The
Flow Cytometry Core Facility (FCCF), is housed in the Terry Fox
Laboratory and provides investigators at the
British Columbia Cancer
Research Centre access to high quality, cost effective flow cytometry
services. By providing these services, as well as the scientific expertise
necessary to effectively use this technology, the facility serves to
enhance the scope and quality of scientific research performed at the
centre.
With
state of the art instrumentation, that includes three high speed cell
sorters, four benchtop analyzers, a cell viability counter, an animal blood
analyzer and a RoboSep cell separator, the
facility can provide a variety of services. FCCF staff provides training
in instrument operation and related computer data analysis and data
management to investigators and/or their staff.
Cell
sorting is conducted by the core facility technical staff. Sample
preparation for analysis or sorting preparation is conducted in advance in
the investigator's laboratory and delivered in the correct test tube to
fit the particular instrument to be used.
